Frequently Asked Questions
We understand this is an incredibly difficult moment, so we've tried to provide some answers to some of the most common questions we get. Don't hesitate to reach out to us directly through phone, email, or chat - we are here for you!
-
What is the process for my pet's cremation?Once your pet arrives at our facility, they are handled with respect and care throughout the cremation process. When we arrive at your location, we respectfully move the pet from where they are and secure the pet into our Pet Transport Vehicles. Once we arrive at the crematory facility, the paw print and other keepsakes are collected. The pet will then move into the actual cremation process. Once the cremation process is respectfully completed, the package you chose is prepared and then placed in line for delivery to your chosen location.
-
How long does my pet cremation take?Depending on the package selected and any addition urn or keepsake items ordered, the typical process for cremation takes approximately 4-7 days. We will call you directly as soon as the process is complete to schedule delivery to your chosen location.
-
Can I witness the cremation?Yes, we offer a witnessing service where you can be present during your pet's cremation process. This service will be arranged directly with the crematory staff and would be scheduled as soon as possible. There is an additional fee for this service as they have to create a space and time for this request. Please let us know if you would like to arrange this.
-
How do you handle the ashes after cremation? After your pet's private cremation is completed, the cremains are carefully labeled, processed and then placed in the urn or keepsake that was included with the selected service package. Arrangements are then made for their return to your home, your vet's clinic, or for pickup at our office. Don't hesitate to let us know what works best for you.
-
What should I do if my pet passes away at home?In the event that your pet passes away at home, we recommend allowing yourself and other members of your household (including any other pets) a bit of time to pause and grieve the loss of your (and their) companion. Take a moment to say goodbye to your friend and allow other pets to see the body, so that they can sense their friend has passed on. Then, you can contact our immediate assistance line at 1-859-740-0195 to assist from that point. We advise placing a blanket or puppy pad beneath your pet to absorb any fluids before transport. The Final Ride will take care of things from that point.
