Severe Weather Policy

At The Final Ride, the safety of our team, our vehicles, and the families we serve is our highest priority. Because we operate as a mobile service, severe weather can directly affect our ability to reach you safely. This policy explains how we respond during hazardous weather events such as snow, ice accumulation, and other dangerous road conditions.

Service Availability During Severe Weather

  • If road conditions are not navigable or safe, we cannot dispatch vehicles for pet pickup services.

  • Service will resume as soon as roads are cleared and it is safe for our staff to travel based on real-time conditions in our immediate service area.

  • Weather and road status can vary by location. Conditions at your home may differ from conditions where our transport team must travel. Therefore, all decisions regarding safe travel are made solely by The Final Ride, using current local assessments.

 

Order of Service – First Call, First Served

During a severe weather delay:

  • All pickups will be handled on a first-call, first-served basis.

  • Once travel is deemed safe, our team will begin responding to calls in the exact order they were received.

  • This ensures fairness and allows us to serve families as quickly and safely as possible.

 

Safety Requirements at the Pickup Location

To protect our staff and ensure safe transport:

  • Families must ensure there is a clear, safe, and unobstructed path from the home or pickup location to our transport vehicle.

  • Snow, ice, steps, and walkways should be cleared to the best of your ability.

  • If the route to the vehicle is unsafe for our staff, the pickup may need to be delayed until it can be made safe.

We understand how deeply emotional these moments are, and we remain committed to assisting you with compassion and care. Severe weather may slow our response, but your loved one will be served with priority and dignity as soon as conditions allow.
